I traveled to Peru Sept 21-28. I had a BLAST. I am so happy to have used Machu Travel Peru as our tour guide. Truly truly lucky and blessed to stumble across them. I could not have pictured our trip going as great as it did with anyone else. I'll break it down into the pros and cons. Pros: - Communication The Communication was AMAZING. Truly I did not wonder about anything. All my questions were answered. They even helped me pack!!! The only thing I would say that was a bit on the err was they told us the wrong time for the Cusco to Lima airport pickup. Told us 6:30 but it was supposed to be 7:30. No big deal because better earlier than later, but I will be very honest in this. They did not check up after the day was over which is something I think they could implement to make sure there are no problems. I did text them daily and they did reply! - Itinerary It was AMAZING. We told them what we wanted to see and they made sure it got DONE(1 week before we were supposed to go). Our trip was booked VERY last minute but they got it DONE. AMAZING. We saw and did everything we wanted with absolutely no complaints. They got us tickets to walk inside Machu Picchu which was AWESOME. I did not expect it but I'm soooo happy they did. It was breathtaking. Only con: we wanted to do sand boarding and we did in a sense- but not the snowboard type. We just laid flat on a board was pushed down the desert hills. Fun- but not what we expected when we told them we wanted to sand board. - The drivers MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR JERICO AND JULIO.!! THEY WERE AMAZING ! AWESOME. WE FELT SOO SAFE IN THE CAR!! THEY WERE AMAZING. SPECIAL AND HUGE SHOUT OUT TO JERICO. HE MADE OUR TRIP GO FROM A 10 TO A 1000000000. JULIO WAS SO AWESOME TOO LIKE HE CAR WAS DECKED OUT WITH SWEETS AND HE WAS JUST SO NICE AND AWESOME. NO COMPLAINTS. - The guides Alvaro- AWESOME!!!! He was sooo knowledgeable and answered soooo many questions (I had a lot). He was so informative and truly really fun and funny! Literally had a blast with him and you could tell he really cared and was passionate!! HUGE SHOUT OUT ALVARO!!! MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR HIM!!! MY ONLY COMPLAINT OF THIS WHOLE TRIP!! Listen up!!! I was really upset we were taken to tourists traps. Really upset. We bought some ponchos that we were taken to when we first got to cusco and paid about $300 USD!!!! For a poncho EACH!!! $300 USD IS A LOT OF MONEY!! THEY DID NOT TAKE SOL!!! After Moray we walked past the set up stores and I paid 10 SOL each fkr a bag of salt ... AGAIN THIS IS WHERE I GET UPSET..... we found the same exact poncho in THE MACHU PICHU TRAIN FOR 180 SOL!!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE THAT IS??? LIKE HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! 2 SOL AT A MARKET IN CUSCO FOR THE SALT!! DO YOU KNOW HOW UPSETTING THAT IS??? Like obviously we are tourists but as a guide did you really need to take us and not even give us a heads up about how we were getting the tourists tax??? Jerrico made sure to tell us and help us find the cheapest option. Alvaro didn't. I'm not mad because I understand it helps the community I really do- but man. $300 USD :((( that's so sad :(( I just feel like it's the principle. Give us a heads up so later on the trip when we see it for 180 SOL we aren't so shocked :(( ALSO... I TOLD THE AGENCY THE DATE WE FLY OUT... they did NOT schedule an airport pickup from Lima to the hotel nor from the hotel to the airport on the last day.... which makes 0 SENSE!!! We flew into Lima on the 27... we went home on the 28.... so like why was nothing planned on the 28?? Why was no transportation provided?? We payed a pretty hefty amount so why??? This was also upsetting. Def will be coming back to Peru. Beautiful country. Beautiful people. Will recommend this agency for sure- but will let people know to be careful of the tourist tax.

We recently did a trip to Peru through Machu Travel, and I must say that it exceeded our expectations. Tour was customized to our preferences and with private guide and transport throughout. It made our experience more enjoyable. The highlight was definitely our tour guide, Kevin, who was knowledgeable and passionate about Peru history and culture. Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommended to others!
